In March of 2010, John Woest and Dana Beining joined forces to begin Vocational Consulting Services, LLC, where they continue to put their varied expertise to work as consultants for vocation-related issues.
John Woest
MS, CRC, LPC
John received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UW-Stevens Point, and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from UW-Milwaukee.
For three years, he worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant with Crawford Healthcare Management where he remained until May of 1988 when he began working for National Rehabilitation Consultants of Wisconsin. He continued in this role until November of 1998 when he again joined Crawford Healthcare Management and continued in that position until 1996, when he transferred to the Crawford Healthcare Management office in Kansas City, MO becoming the Branch Manager.
In 2001 John relocated to the Green Bay, WI area where he worked in a Supervisor/Vocational Consultant capacity until February 2003. His job was to supervise vocational consultants, employment consultants, and rehabilitation nurses.
Beginning in March of 2003, John worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor for Consulting Experts, Inc., where he provided vocational case management services and worked extensively with litigation cases, determining loss of earning capacity.
Dana Beining
MS, CRC, PC
Dana completed her Master of Science Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling through UW-Stout. She continues to be active at Stout, giving guest lectures on private rehab issues and assisting with international trips to study vocational issues in other countries. Her undergraduate degree, achieved at UW-Green Bay, involves a Bachelor of Science double major in Psychology and Human Development, with studies in Spanish language.
Work experience prior to entering the field of vocational rehab includes five years in management roles for the long term care industry. Additional experience reflects work in the retail industry and as a Youth Coordinator.
Dana entered the vocational rehab field in 2001, accepting the position of Employment Consultant for Crawford Healthcare Management. She then followed an opportunity to provide vocational case management services with Consulting Experts, Inc. from 2003 to 2010. At that point, the company was dissolved due to the retirement of the owner, Jerry Odness. However, through VCS, Dana continues to provide vocational services consisting of job seeking skills, placement assistance, retraining coordination, and earning assessments/reports for litigation.
